Leighton's Big Day!

Leighton got baptized on Sunday. She did really well. She had fun playing with Hunter's microphone while he was praying but I was just glad she didn't freak out when he put the water on her head. I really wanted to put her in a christening gown but when I tried it on her she looked like the "fat guy in a little coat" so we wore this instead. She had a great day with all the attention. She had 15 people at her house for lunch in her honor. (I know... what was I thinking) It turned out really well. I even broke out the china and real silver. This is only the second time I have used it in 5 years.

After our morning and busy lunch we all took a really long nap. But, as I was going to sleep I was thinking about what a huge responsibility it is to raise a Christian woman. I have prayed everyday for Leighton since I found out I was pregnant. I continue to pray everyday that I will be able to teach her good morals, values, and what being a Christian is all about. It scares me to death to think about her becoming a teenager. I guess I'll just have to pray all day everyday when that day comes. It is a great feeling to know that God will be watching over her even when I can't.

Here are some pictures of her big day.......
